Shelf life of seeds: 3 years, if stored according to instructions below (except for parsnips).

Storage instructions: Store in a cool dark place away from heat, water or excess moisture. All of the seeds will last for at least 3 years in these conditions, except for parsnip seeds. To prolong your parsnip seeds shelf life, store them in a zip lock bag in the freezer.

To prolong the shelf life of all your seeds further than 3 years: Take the zip lock bags out of the bucket and store them in the freezer at a minimum temp of -18c or up to -24c. Keep all zip lock bags well sealed. To prolong the seeds in the freezer, itis best to keep the freezer at an even temperature, the colder the better. If you’re opening and closing the freezer on a regular basis, the seeds can last around 5-10 years, depending on how much the temps vary. If you keep the seeds at an even temp of up to -24c the seeds can last 10 – 20 years.

Tip: If you want to take extra precaution to keep your seeds safe and lasting a long time, vacuum pack the seeds before storing them in the freezer.

Note: If you’re storing your seeds in zip lock bags in the freezer, the bags need to be well sealed with no holes so the seeds remain dry and air tight at all times. If they absorb moisture they will not last, vacuum packing gives extra protection.

Note: If freezer space is an issue, just keep the parsnip seeds in the freezer, if you have medium freezer space, store all the seeds in the freezer except for the lupins which can last a long time out of the freezer. If you have lots of freezer space then keep all the seeds in the freezer including the lupins.
