Description

Description: Non-invasive tall grass that forms up to 4m high carbonaceous stems in abundance depending on the quality of the soil it is in. It likes wet areas, and handles frost. It has tall flower stalks but the seeds are infertile and it is not invasive. It is perfect plant for growing carbon for a compost heap or mulch etc. It is also one of the very best plants to use as the carbon in light earth mixes. They grow into clumps that are best harvested annually when they have flowered.
Planting Instructions: Plant in garden bed at 30cm diagonal spacing or in pots until plants are well established and then transplant to permanent location leaving at least 50cm between plants.
