Description: These are from Henry Harrington’s yam collection gifted to us in the 1990’s. He collected these yams from his elderly gardening friends all around the lower south throughout his gardening career. These are a mix of red with a yellow centre and yellow with red eyes. They crop heavily in areas that have hard frosts in winter.

Planting Instructions: Prefer a deep, free draining soil and are easier to grow in colder areas. Plant in the Spring at 40cm centres 5cm deep in trenches and hill up as tops grow. Do not harvest until the tops have totally died back as the tubers will not be formed. Watch the birds, they love digging them up.
