Description: Early Red is also a heritage garlic from the Henry Harrington Southland Collection. It is similar in every way to Early White except it has a red skin, and is very beautiful. Unusual flattish shape, best planted Feb-March-April, ready to harvest mid November. Excellent flavour, huge Farmers Market potential for Xmas and holiday period sales.
Planting Instructions: Garlic does best in light soils with good drainage and needs a sunny position. Enrich soil with well rotted manure, compost, lime and Nature’s Garden prior to planting. Plant on 10 to 12.5 cm diagonal spacings from April to May. Mulch after planting to help keep free of weeds
