Description:<\/strong>\u00a0This barley came into our collection many years ago from K.U.S.A, an organisation in California saving endangered heritage grains. Ancient Japanese naked food-barley. Spring growth habit has purplish coloured grain and it is avert rare glutinous trait food barley. Glutinous-trait food barleys are very, very rare. This is one of them. Makes excellent sprouted barley cakes.<\/p>\n

All grains contain phytic acids and other anti nutrients and were traditionally always either fermented, sprouted or soaked and cooked for a long slow period to make the grains digestible and nutritious for the human digestive system.
