The Kotare Community Land Trust invites potential settlers to Kotare Village

The village is for those who will imagine and create a culture based on the following values:

A low ‘ecological footprint’ lifestyle

Individual and community self-reliance in food, health, housing, energy and appropriate technologies

Creating a life ‘rich’ in relationships rather than consumerism

The village is 15 years old now and there are approx 20 people living here, and it’s time to expand!

Kotare Village is planned to be a village of 20 – 40 dwellings, alongside the Koanga Institute, and developed over the near future, along with appropriate community facilities

The land is owned by the Kotare Community Land Trust whose role is to:

We have developed a structure that both protects the vision of the Trust, and encourages individual involvement and contribution to our economy and community. This can include on-site enterprises, ‘work from home’ enterprises, and retirees. We are particularly interested in bringing in and supporting young families, and those who have a lot of energy for building this project.

Koanga has 5 sites within the village available right now and we would love to connect with those of you we have a lot in common with.

Projects

Koanga has many projects on the go, some focusing on village self-reliance, others on bringing in income. Many of these projects could benefit from partnerships and or businesses working alongside them.
