Description
Dark purple, egg-shaped plum. Yellow flesh, freestone to semi-freestone. Mid‑to‑late season, reliable and versatile for eating fresh or preserving. A classic heritage variety with gentle, sweet flavour.
This is a self fertile prune unlike the later fruiting cultivars and is a well known one in England.
This plum came from the Jim Cox collection at Tangiteroria.
He used to sell these plums in the Whangarei markets in the 1950s.
