Description
Purple skin, egg-shaped, yellow flesh, freestone. Fruits reliably in the North, so should crop well throughout New Zealand. Dries very well, and is delicious fresh or dried.
Prune Italian is considered self-fertile, so it will produce fruit on its own without needing another plum variety nearby. However, like most European plums, fruit set and overall yield can improve if there is another European plum flowering at the same time in the area.
