Description
Mid season delightful, easy biting green skin, lighter than Granny Smith, with reddish streaks and gold russet when ripe; sweet/tart crunchy, excellent flavour desert from April on and great cooking (from February on), reliable heavy cropper, healthy tree.
From Phil Evans in Kohukohu, Hokianga, 1987; also from Cloon Eavin, Pahi; one of the very early good apples in the North, came to Northland with the Dalmatian gumdiggers, widespread around Northland in early orchards.
