Description: A summer salad herb that will self-seed if you’re on sandy or light soils. This plant has very fleshy small leaves which are picked and eaten raw in salads. It’s one of the few ancient herbs that our ancestors were eating many thousands of years ago still around and so is a vital plant that our bodies recognise as ‘good’ food. Contain Omega 3 fatty acids. Kay bought this back from the USA in 2004 from the garden of Rich Pecoraro, one of the stars of Seeds of Change, and a wonderful mentor for her at that time.
Planting Instructions: Scatter sow onto seed tray and do not cover with soil. Prick out when first leaves appear, at 2.5 cm diagonal spacings transplant into garden at 20 cm diagonal spacing, when leaves touch.
