Description: Spring growth habit 6 row naked food barley from Japan, black purple seeds. Very high % of hulless excellent food grain crop.

Planting instructions: Scatter sow into trays early October. Transplant into beds when 5-8cm high at 10cm diagonal spacing. Harvest when seed begins falling and mature in green house before harvesting and winnowing, or scatter sow seed over 10m² early October. Rake in, cover with bird netting until 5cm high.

All grains contain phytic acids and other anti nutrients and were traditionally always either fermented, sprouted or soaked and cooked for a long slow period to make the grains digestible and nutritious for the human digestive system.
