Ordering and deliveries

Please order via our website If you experience difficulties placing an order please email [email protected] (preferred) or phone 06 838 6269

We send all parcels tracked with NZ Post. When your order is posted you will receive an order note with tracking number.

Due to the complexities of sending out many items of different sizes we have a minimum freight charge of $6.95 (urban) and $9.95 (rural). We suggest that you combine items to make best use of the freight charge.

Please note though that items from our perennial collection are mostly sent from a different location to seeds, books and products so freight cannot be combined for those items. Fruit trees can also not be combined with other items.

Ordering system for our perennial collection

Please order items from this list via our website. When we are sure of stocking levels each year the relevant items will be made available to order. Orders can be placed in advance once the item is listed as in stock but will only be sent out at the time indicated so there may be a delay in dispatch.

To be informed when items become available please make use of the ‘wait list’ function on our website – you will then be sent an e-mail to inform you that the item has become available to order. Details of all perennial plant material can be found here

Items will be sent out around the time indicated for that category although specific timing varies from season to season. If you have special requirements (for example will be away during part of the send out period) please let us know when you order as we are not able to contact customers to check before sending the items out. Please note that it is not possible to combine items from this category to be sent with other items from our store.

If you have a perennials query then please email [email protected]

The process for kumara is a little different. Due to the need to juggle different varieties being ready and their regrowth rate, tupu will be made available to order after each pick (usually friday).

We will make what we have that week available but there will be more coming so if you miss out please put your name back on the waiting list for the following pick.

Initially they will be available to members only but this will change so again if you are unable to order please add your name back on the waiting list.

We introduced a courier post option for kumara to get your parcel to you even quicker. Although we take great care in packing the tupu we cannot be responsible for it once it has left us.

Fruit trees, support trees and cuttings

Fruit trees, support trees and cuttings are all sent out during the winter, fruit trees and support trees around the same time and cuttings at a different time. Each of these categories has a separate freight charge because it is usually not possible to send them together. Because of the varying sizes of the items occasionally our freight charges are not correct.

If you have a query about your freight charge for any of these items please contact [email protected]

Problems with delivery

Once your order leaves us it is in the hands of NZ Post. Occasionally there are problems, delays or even missing parcels which is why we have switched to a tracked only system and why we e-mail tracking numbers to customers on dispatch. This means we can track where a parcel is in the system and ask NZ Post to find it. Please note though that NZ Post have a 21 day limit on claims for missing items so it is essential that we are contacted within 21 days of dispatch otherwise we will be unable to claim from them and will be unable to provide a refund, replacement or credit.

Please e-mail [email protected] if you experience issues with delivery.
