Description

This product is for those gardeners who have been striving to achieve minerally balanced and biologically active soils and are concerned about psyliid on potatoes, tomatoes and peppers etc, and other pests and diseases. This product is also for those who do not wish to use Koanga Psyllid Solution because even though it is non toxic to humans, it can contact kill other insects if they are on the plants when sprayed. The risk of benefical insect by-kill is relatively low. Bees do not frequent tomatoes and potatoes. However, the longer we work towards achieving a biological  system, the harder it is to use any spray that is not biological. In an ideal environment the biology takes care of the balance. This product is 100% biology.

It is advised to commence a minerally balanced  soil fertility building programme to build natural plant immunity rather than rely on chemical control, which destroys natural plant immunity and increases chemical dependency.

Koanga Balance is a blend of 12 microbes, or beneficial soil bacteria and fungi. These organisms function as effective Bio-Insecticides, Bio-Fungicides, Bio-Nematicides and Bio-Miticides. They protect plants through mechanisms ranging from competition with plant pathogens through to direct parasitism of plant pathogenic fungi, nematodes and insect pests. They are effective against soil and foliage insect pests and disease-causing pathogens.

Directions for use:
Once introduced into soil, the beneficial fungi and bacteria should persist. Although annual reapplication may be necessary in severe pest situations. Best applied under moist conditions. Moist soil ensures that spores have sufficient water to germinate and infect the host insect or pathogen, killing it before root/foliage damage occurs.

Option 1. Add 1 gm of Koanga Balance to a 20 lt compost tea brew and spray as part of the tea

Option 2. Add  1 gm of Koanga Balance to a 10 litre watering can of warm water and 1/4 cup of molasses and 1/4 cup of liquid fish, and or liquid seaweed. Stir well and sit for 1/2 an hour then water on soil, or filter the above mix and spray onto leaves in a back pack sprayer. We recommend  spraying  both over and under sides of the leaves.

For cicadas and other pests that emerge from the soil, soil-apply early in the growing season before adults emerge. A second application a month apart may be necessary for severe infestations.
