Description: From the KUSA collection of ancient grains. This particular flax seed, known for its blue flowers, has a rich history of co-evolution with other grains like barley and wheat in Europe. It’s interesting to note that it is different in both shape and size compared to the commercially available flax seeds today, being larger and flatter. Moreover, its high Omega 3 and 6 content adds to its nutritional value. Easily cultivated, readily threshed and kitchen-ready, it grinds with ease in a corn grinder.

Notably, this flax seed also holds historical importance as the original Irish linen plant, emphasizing its versatile uses beyond just its seeds.

Planting Instructions: Scatter sow seed over 3sqm. Rake in, cover with bird netting until 2cm high. Remove netting. Or scatter sow into a seed tray and transplant into garden at 10cm diagonal spacings.
